A site everyone can actually use

Bolaños Bookkeeping is committed to keeping this website usable for everyone, including visitors who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or reduced motion. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Last updated September 2026.

Keyboard access throughout

Every link, button and form field can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. A “Skip to main content” link is the first stop on each page so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass the navigation.

Visible focus indicators

Interactive elements show a clear, high-contrast focus ring, including form inputs and the contact form's submit button, so it is always obvious where you are on the page.

Labeled, forgiving forms

Each field on the contact form has a permanent visible label and the appropriate autocomplete value. Validation messages are tied to their field programmatically and announced immediately, and the confirmation message after sending is announced as a live status.

Control over motion

The scrolling highlights banner has a labeled pause and play control, and animated entrances are toned down for visitors whose systems request reduced motion.

Meaningful structure

Pages use one main landmark, a single top-level heading and a logical heading order. Timeline entries are real headings rather than styled text, so screen reader users can navigate them directly.

Color and contrast

Text and interface colors were chosen to meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds, and no information is conveyed by color alone — errors and states also carry text.

Mobile reflow and target size

Content reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels wide, and navigation, footer and form controls meet minimum touch target sizes.

Text alternatives

Photographs carry descriptive alternative text, and decorative marks are hidden from assistive technology so they don't add noise.

How we test

The site is reviewed with automated tooling (axe accessibility rules run against every page), a manual source review against the WCAG 2.2 AA criteria, and hands-on checks of keyboard navigation and narrow-screen layouts down to 320 pixels. Automated testing cannot catch everything, so some criteria are also reviewed by hand.

Known limitations

Accessibility is ongoing work rather than a finished state. Certain criteria — such as a full screen reader walkthrough with every assistive technology and browser combination — require continued human testing, and we address issues as we find them or as they are reported.
